Cleveland Cavaliers officially waive four players

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) — With the regular season set to start next week, the Cleveland Cavaliers waived four players from their training camp roster on Saturday.

The team officially waived Pete Nance, Jules Bernard, Zhaire Smith and Jacob Gilyard.

The current roster stands at 17 players, including three two-way players.

The Cavaliers will open the 2024-25 regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 23 on the road in Toronto.

Cleveland will play its home opener on Friday, Oct. 25 against the Detroit Pistons at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
