    Cavaliers sharpshooter to miss 6 weeks with injury

    CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The Cleveland Cavaliers announced on Saturday that guard/forward Max Strus sustained a right ankle sprain and will miss at least six weeks of action.

    He suffered the injury during individual workouts on Thursday.

    According to a release from the team, Strus will be reassessed in six weeks of treatment and rehabilation. His status will be updated as appropriate.

    Strus also missed two of Cavaliers preseason games with a right hip contusion.

    Last season, Strus started 70 games for the Cavaliers. He averaged 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and four assists for Cleveland. He also connected on 35% of his three-point attempts.

    The Cavaliers will open the 20240-25 season on Wednesday on the road in Toronto.
