    Goldie Marie Paczak, Hermitage, PA

    HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Goldie Marie Paczak, 97, formerly of Hermitage, passed away Friday morning, October 18, 2024, in UPMC Hamot Hospital, Erie.

    Mrs. Paczak was born on March 8, 1927, in Lore City, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Toth) Mayors.

    She was a graduate of Sharon High School and attended Paramount Beauty School, Youngstown, Ohio.

    A dedicated homemaker, she also worked in retail for the former Kaufman’s and Macy’s department stores.

    Goldie was a founding member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, where she was the past president of the Ave Maria Society and assisted in the funeral lunch ministry.

    A philanthropist, she volunteered for the Prince of Peace and Shenango Valley Meals on Wheels. She was also the program chairman for the Kennedy Catholic PTO and served as the leader of Girl Scout Troop 37. Additionally, Goldie served as Judge of Elections and Election Inspector.

    She enjoyed making stained glass items, traveling, antique furniture, sewing, her dogs, flower gardening and family photography.

    She is survived by five children, Cynthia Morgan Gable (Michael), Winston-Salem, North Carolina; David E. Paczak (Lita), Morrisonville, New York; Michael G. Paczak (Kathy), Falls Church, Virginia; Melinda Isachsen, and Mark A. Paczak, both of Erie, Pennsylvania and three grandchildren, Benjamin, Daniel (Deborah) and Sophie Paczak.

    Goldie was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Paczak; a grandson, Brian Morgan; her former husband, Eli Paczak; a son-in-law, Jan O. Isachsen; a sister, Elizabeth Gorzo and two brothers, Steve and Michael Mayors.

    The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Prince of Peace, 502 Darr Avenue, Farrell, PA 16121.

    Calling hours will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday October 21, 2024 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc . 1090 East State Street, Sharon.

    Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday October 22, 2024 in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pennsylvania, with Reverend John Miller, pastor, as celebrant.

    Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
