HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) — A very colorful and festive trunk or treat was held at a local church on Sunday.

Hundreds of people showed up at the Howland United Methodist Church. Cars lined the parking lot to pass out candy. Inside, dinner was provided with a praise concert.

Recently, the church underwent a $2 million expansion for a new space for kids.

“Just a few weeks ago, we took in 29 new members here because people can see the things we’re doing to help other people. We’re impacting the community and attracting people here and the people can see how we’re trying to make a difference,” said Pastor Mattew Darrin.

The church offers other ways to help the community, such as its backpack program that feeds kids in the community.
