Annual WingOut Festival Returns to Chicago For Another Year
There are very few things that I can eat multiple times in a week but one of them is chicken wings. There is something about the breaded skin, the juicy meat, and the succulent sauce that keeps me coming back. I am more of a buffalo, hot honey, spicy garlic kind of wing guy but I'm not opposed to other flavors either, just make sure they aren't slimy. Nighttime clubs still have the best wings I have ever tasted, next level wizardry going on in that kitchen.
This Famous Retail Store Rue21 Is Closing Every Store In Ohio
One of the most well-known retailers that really blew up in the 2000s is going to be closing every single location in the country, including locations in Ohio after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Rue 21 has been a staple since the 70s since being established in Pennsylvania and currently has about 540 stores throughout the entire country, but now it looks like there will soon be zero.
Michigan Ranked 15th Most Dangerous State For Construction Workers
Every state deals with the annoying season of construction and for the nicer areas of the country, this may be a year-round season. Here in Michigan, that season only comes for about 6 months before it becomes too cold and the snow starts to fall. Often we are stuck dealing with construction projects that take much longer than anticipated due to weather and personnel. Construction workers are some of the highest paid employees in the country but they are forced to work a lot of hours while doing heavy labor.
This Restaurants Has The Best Burgers and Fries in Michigan
For some people going out to eat is a regular event in their week and is something they do multiple times a month, while for others it is a luxury that is reserved for special occasions only. It's nice to load up into the family vehicle and have someone prepare your food and wait on you, taking some of the load of dinner responsibility away from the family. The other part of going out is finding the places that can prepare your favorite meal the best.
Two of Michigan’s Most Well-Known Drive-In Movie Theatres Are Closing For Good
When the pandemic was in full effect, Americans found a comforting, nostalgic feeling when driving in movie, theaters and announced that they would continue to show films. This led to a surge in people going back to the tradition of heading out in their cars with their loved ones or friends and kicking back and watching a double feature from their own vehicle.
Two Michigan Cities Named Top-5 Cities for a Superhero
Okay, look, I know this whole thing is silly so just bear with me here. According to a recent study, the Avengers Tower is in the wrong city and the state of Michigan desperately needs a superhero. A recent study (seriously) by American Fidelity took the time to measure which...

A large portion of the Northern Hemisphere is under a warning this weekend, and it's because of some crazy activity from the sun. A Solar storm that NASA says is "unusually strong" is bearing down on the planet, and should produce some of the most spectacular views of the Northern Lights.
Michigan is the Cheapest State to Attend Live Sports
I'm a bit disappointed in myself. I've lived in Michigan for almost two years and haven't gone to a single live sporting event in the Mitten State (except our play-by-play high school football broadcasts). I haven't seen the Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons or Lions. That's made even worse by the...
Is WrestleMania Coming Back to Detroit?
WrestleMania and Detroit are forever linked. The very concept of WrestleMania was bolstered as a true success in the Pontiac Silver Dome at WrestleMania III in 1987. Hulk Hogan slammed Andre the Giant and wrestling became a global phenomenon. Though more than 90,000 people piled into the stadium that day,...
What’s Next? Post-Tornado Advice From a Tornado Alley Survivor
Losing everything is shocking, and I don't mean that from the standpoint of making a bad bet at the casino, or making a poor life decision. I mean, when mother nature literally destroys everything you own in a matter of 90 seconds, and you go from living comfortably, to being homeless, with literally only the clothes on your back to your name.
Cool Car Features We Kind of Miss
Walking through a vintage car show, you can't help but notice just how different old cars feel. Hop in one and you realize that they're built like tanks (or boats, as we used to say) but somehow, they also feel oddly futuristic. Your Dashboard Has Never Been More Complicated. When...

Beware Sharing Fake Videos of Tuesday’s Tornadoes in Michigan
Plenty of footage has come out now of the tornadoes that ripped through southwest Michigan on May 7th, and what we've seen has been impressive. Footage from storm chasers headed along Highway 131 and along I-94 show a large tornado as it moved into the Portage area, and people living in St. Joseph and Branch Counties even catching the large "stove pipe" tornado that prompted Michigan's first ever Tornado Emergency.

Patients and hospital staff are having a very hard time during a current cyber attack. One of my co-workers came into work frustrated this morning after her doctor's appointment didn't go as planned. At this Kalamazoo area Ascension Borgess location they were having issues finding her in the system to check her in. It turns out, this is not an isolated incident according to an Ascension employee who anonymously spoke with the Free Press,

Will Tornadoes Become More Common in Southwest Michigan?
I ran across a post on Reddit Wednesday that was strangely timed. It asked, "Why do people continue to live in areas where there are tornadoes?" Now, I grew up in southern Alabama where hurricanes and tornadoes were a regular threat. When I was a child, I asked my mom the same question. And on the surface, it's a fair question. Why not live somewhere where we aren't at risk of losing everything because of a random, uncontrollable occurrence?
