    Aspiring anglers: Learn to fish for free at upcoming fishing clinic

    PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — Aspiring anglers can “learn basic fishing techniques and ethical angling practices” at an upcoming fishing clinic.

    The Free Fishing Clinic at Fort Pickens is offered through the International Game Fish Association’s Passports to Fishing Program, according to a press release.

    Those who wish to attend the free clinic, which is scheduled to be held at Fort Pickens Ferry Plaza from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 29, are asked to register in advance.

    FISHING CLINIC LOCATION:

    Equipment needed to participate in the program will be provided, according to the release. Fishing is catch-and-release during the clinic.

    Although the event is free, anglers 16 years and older must have a valid Florida fishing license. To purchase a license, visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s website .
