Milton woman accused of driving under the influence during deadly crash: FHP

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG ) — A Milton woman was arrested after a passenger in the vehicle she was driving died in a crash Monday , according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the FHP news release, 65-year-old Deborah Lee Fiss was driving southbound on State Road 89 in Milton on Monday, July 15, when the crash happened.

The van Fiss was driving left the road and overturned, which ejected the passenger and ultimately killed them, according to the release.

The passenger was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital, where she died.

Fiss was taken to Santa Rosa Medical, and when FHP officials arrived at the medical center, they allegedly could tell Fiss was under the influence of drugs.

Fiss was arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter and is being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail with no bond.
