    12-story apartment complex, hotel proposed near Pensacola Blue Wahoos Stadium

    PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — The Dawson Company, doing business as Inspired Communities of Florida, wants to make Maritime Park a true destination with a new mixed-use development.

    That development was proposed during a Monday city council meeting.

    Developers shared the following information about the $150 million development that would have a 12-story apartment building and a hotel built near the Blue Wahoos Stadium:

    • Two main parts: a 12-story apartment complex overlooking the bay and a hotel overlooking the stadium
    • Built by Gensler Architects, a company officials say has completed comparable projects
    • Planned to utilize the Live Local Act “to increase density”

    • 240-280 units
    • Mixed-income development with 40% residential units for those in the 80-120% Average Median Income. (Pricing: A single at 120% would be $1,890, and a two-bedroom at 120% would be $2,400)
    • Amenities: water views, preserved park
    • Built using mass timber to lower carbon footprint

    “We view it as a regionally impactful and significant development,” developers said. “We envision a very vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood that is able to complement the other developments in Pensacola.”

    “Pensacola deserves to have a development that competes with or exceeds that of other waterfront locations in Florida and within the region.”
