ORANGE BEACH, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Award-winning country musician Jordan Davis is bringing his ‘Damn Good Time World Tour’ to Orange Beach on Saturday, Aug. 17.

WKRG News 5’s Digital Reporter Summer Poole spoke with Davis on Thursday to find out what fans attending the concert can expect.

Davis has multiple No. 1 singles including “Singles You Up,” “Buy Dirt,” and “What My World Spins Around.” Earlier this year, he won Song of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards for his song “Next Thing You Know.”

This isn’t Davis’ first time performing in Orange Beach, as he played at the Seafood Festival years ago. Even though he’s performed in the area, Davis said he has a special place in his heart for the city outside of his music career.

“That entire area is super special to me, my family. That was our vacation spot growing up,” said Davis. “It’s now kind of morphed into my kid’s spot where we take them.”

Other big-name country music artists such as Kenny Chesney and Luke Brian have played at The Wharf and Davis said he feels honored to play there because of that.

“To be able to move into these bigger rooms and get on some of those stages that just icons have played on, for me it shows that we’re writing music people care about,” said Davis.

When it comes to Davis’ fans, he admittedly loves connecting with them, so much so that he partnered with One County to give his truck away.

“[One Country] came to me, Chase and Patrick, and they were like, ‘man, we want to help sponsor the tour,’ which I was all about,” said Davis. “And then they told me, ‘but we’re gonna have to give away your truck at the end of it if you want us to be a part of it,’ which I thought was awesome.”

Tickets to Davis’ concert at The Wharf Amphitheater are still available on Ticketmaster .
