    Pensacola teen indicted in drive-by shooting that killed 70-year-old woman

    ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — An Escambia County grand jury has indicted a Pensacola man accused in the drive-by shooting that killed 70-year-old Myra Hayes.

    According to a news release from Florida State Attorney Ginger Bowden Madden, 19-year-old Terrance Gross Jr. was indicted for the shooting that occurred on June 24 at 4260 Erress Blvd.

    LOCATION:

    The release said Gross was extradited from Texas to be prosecuted after he allegedly eluded the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office the day of the shooting.

    After being indicted, Gross is now formally charged with first-degree premeditated murder, shooting at or into a building, fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer at high speed, and possession of a firearm by a convicted delinquent under 24 years of age.

    Gross is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, Aug. 16.

    The release said he is being held in pretrial detention while the case is pending.
