    5. Stranded Boat in Orange Beach

    The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and residents are looking for answers after a boat was abandoned in Orange Beach.

    The boat was found by a couple, Dylan Mitchell and his fiance Kaitlyn Argo, who noticed that the boat appeared to have been abandoned after crashing into the rocks at Alabama Point.

    ALEA said they are continuing to investigate.

    4. Pensacola Assistant Principal Arrested

    A Pensacola High School assistant principal was arrested on Wednesday, News 5 has learned.

    Pensacola Police Department arrested 55-year-old Sean Robby with a sex offense, video voyeurism of someone 19 or younger.

    According to police, the incident did not occur on campus and did not involve any students. They did not share further details.

    Escambia County Public Schools said they are cooperating with police as the investigation continues.

    3. ER Comes to Perdido Key

    Perdido Key area residents will soon have another place to go as an emergency room is planned to come to the area.

    That emergency room will be located off Sorrento Road, according to Ascesion Sacred Heart. It will have a triage area, a resuscitation room, nine treatment spaces, and CT and X-ray machines.

    Officials say more than 40 people will work at the facility which is scheduled to be ready to accept patients by next summer.

    2. Meet the Candidates: Gaetz and Dimmock

    Voters in Northwest Florida are set to head to the polls as Incumbent Matt Gaetz faces off against challenger Aaron Dimmock for the Republican District One primary.

    That race is scheduled for Tuesday.

    Ahead of the race, WKRG News 5’s Peter Albrecht sat down with both candidates. At 6 p.m. there will be a profile on U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz and at 10 p.m. there will be a profile on challenger Aaron Dimmock.

    1. Alabama Voter List Purge

    A purge of Alabama voter rolls is underway as the Alabama Secretary of State found more than 3,000 ‘non-citizens’ who were registered to vote in Alabama.

    According to officials, the ‘non-citizens’ are not classified as citizens but were able to use federally-issued non-citizen IDs to register to vote illegally.

    Every county except Claiborne County had some number of ‘non-citizen’ voters, officials said. That included 537 in Baldwin and Mobile counties.

    The secretary has asked local election officials to get those people off the voter rolls before the November general election and says his office will investigate whether any ‘non-citizens’ on the rolls have ever actually voted before.
