Kate Carver with Dumas Wesley and Trina Rackard with Wind Creek Hospitality joined News 5’s Shamonee Baker and Bill Riales on the red couch to discuss the center, which offers programs and services to help people in the Mobile and Baldwin communities.

According to Carver, DWCC helps people of all ages with programs like the Senior Activities for Independent Living Program , the Sybil Smith Family Village , and the After School Achievement Program .

However, Carver noted, “We can’t do what we do without the support of the Poarch Creek Indians and the community at large.”

Rankard, the director of events and sponsorships with Wind Creek Hospitality, emphasized the importance of the telethon in reaching the goals and supporting the program.

She said, “We are excited about the telethon today because every donation that is given today, Poarch Creek is going to match, dollar to dollar, up to $30,000.”

To donate, Call 251-479-0649 or text 866-966-4042.
