    Pensacola man killed in Escambia County crash involving bicycle, pickup truck

    ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating after a cyclist was killed in a Wednesday afternoon crash in Escambia County.

    According to a press release from the FHP, the crash happened at around 1 p.m. on Aug. 21 near the intersection of State Road 292 (North Pace Boulevard) and West Jordan Street. It involved a silver GMC pickup driven by an 83-year-old Pensacola man and a bicycle.

    INCIDENT LOCATION:

    The bicyclist, a 61-year-old Pensacola man, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

    It is not yet known what led to the crash. According to the release, FHP’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.
