    Eight Mile woman sentenced in 2020 murder

    MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — An Eight Mile woman was sentenced for her role in the 2020 murder of Randal Taylor , according to Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood.

    DA Blackwood shared on Facebook that a Mobile County Judge sentenced 37-year-old Amy Simmons Palmer to 20 years in prison, split to serve five years for her role in Taylor’s murder.

    Palmer was found guilty after a three-day trial in June.

    Four people were originally arrested in Taylor’s murder: Samuel Nichols, Jacob Weaver, Shannon Lewis, and Amy Palmer. Nichols and Weaver pled guilty in 2023 and Lewis’ charges were dropped in June, according to court documents.
