PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. ( WKRG ) — While it was a busy weekend on Pensacola Beach, that will soon change. But for some businesses, there’s still lots to do this off-season, even without the crowds.

“We are expecting a drop but we’re gonna take what we can get until then,” Robyn Greer, bartender at The Dock said.

Labor Day Weekend marks the ‘unofficial’ end of summer and the last burst of tourism for a while on Pensacola Beach.

But businesses will find ways to keep busy.

“We’re advertising more events, parties, Christmas parties, anything to get people in here and keep us busy throughout the season,” Greer said.

“Refurbishing stuff, maintenance, just there’s plenty to keep us busy during the off-season,” Kirk Newkirk, owner of Key Sailing said.

While things might not have looked slow this Labor Day weekend, the owner of Key Sailing and the employees at The Dock say business this season was slower than in years past.

“We don’t really know the reason for it but looking at our sales it is a lot slower,” Greer said.
