Gulf Coast Classic to bring hundreds of dogs to Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A weekend for dog lovers is coming to the Gulf Coast as the Mobile Kennel Club prepares to host the all-breed dog show.

According to a press release, the Gulf Coast Classic is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 8 at 7 a.m. at The Grounds (1035 Cody Road North).

“Hundreds of dogs and their owners will get the chance to strut their stuff in the show ring,” the release said. Meanwhile, spectators can tune into the following events:

• Judging of various breeds in Conformation
• Owner-handlers compete in the National Owner-Handled Series
• Young owner-handlers compete against their peers in the Junior Showmanship Competition
• Puppies getting started in the sport in the AKC Sanctioned 4 and under 6 Months Puppy Competition
• Timed 100-yard dash better known as the sport Fast CAT
