Reese’s Senior Bowl Coach of the Week: Phil Lazenby, Bayshore Christian

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — Week two of the high school football season was historic for Bayshore Christian football as the program kicked off it’s first ever varsity season.

The Eagles defeated McIntosh 28-7 on the road last Friday to earn their first win in school history. For that, our Reese’s Senior Bowl Coach of the Week is Bayshore’s Phil Lazenby!

Lazenby and the Eagles staff have worked tirelessly for years to build the program — and Friday’s win was a culmination of that dedication. Bayshore’s Andrew Hope scored two touchdowns in the win over McIntosh — Brook Jones and Nate Crooms also found the endzone for the Eagles.

Friday’s win was #201 for Hall of Fame coach Phil Lazenby — he spent much of his career leading Bayside Academy before building the program at Bayshore.

Bayshore is on a BYE for week three of the season — the Eagles will open Class 2A Region 1 play against Clarke County on September 12th in Fairhope.
