    Missing teen’s body recovered from Pascagoula River

    GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. ( WKRG ) — Mississippi authorities found the body of a teen who has been missing since Monday, News 5 has learned.

    The body of Jacob Mullen, 17, was recovered from the Pascagoula River on Tuesday night. The George County Sheriff’s Office said his body was recovered at 9:42 p.m.

    INCIDENT LOCATION:

    According to previous reporting , police said Mullen had been missing since Monday afternoon when he went underwater in the Pascagoula River near Mixon Lake and never resurfaced. Officials with the George County Sheriff’s Office said a group of teenagers were hanging out at a party and swimming across the river, but 17-year-old Jacob Mullen didn’t make it.

    Search and rescue efforts began Monday night.
