    Grand Bay man dies after August crash, ALEA investigating

    MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating an August crash that led to a Grand Bay man’s death, News 5 has learned.

    According to an ALEA press release,  James M. Jepko, III, 21, was killed after a single-vehicle crash that happened at around 12:53 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, near Jeff Hamilton Road and Jenfield Drive.

    INCIDENT LOCATION:

    Jepko was critically injured when the 2007 Nissan 350Z he was driving left the roadway, hit a culvert, and overturned, officials said.

    Jepko, who was not using a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was taken to a hospital in Birmingham to treat his injuries, ALEA said.

    He was pronounced dead on Monday, Sept. 2.

    ALEA said that the Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the crash.
