MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Football season is in full swing, and that means there’s a chance for players to get hurt out on the field.

According to the National Institutes for Health, 1.2 million football related injuries are reported each year.

Doctor William Cutchen, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with USA Health, answers the following questions in the video above.

    1. Which football-related injuries are the most commonly seen?
    2. If a player gets hurt on the field, when should they go to a doctor for medical treatment?
    3. What can players and coaches do to minimize injuries on the field?
