MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Lego Brick Convention has returned to Mobile for a second year. The weekend long event at the Mobile Convention Center has everything Lego lovers, young and old, can enjoy.

Professional Lego artists created their own unique Lego sculptures. People can also create their own Lego mini figures and take pictures with different characters.

Amado Pinlac, also known as ACPin in the Lego world, has been a Lego enthusiast since 1999. He specializes in Star Wars and botanical designs. He says depending on the detail of the creation, it can take up to three months to complete.

“I make sure when I plan out a new creation for Star Wars that I nail the details. So, I take a lot of screenshots, outlining the characters,” Pinlac said.

Pinlac’s advice for new builders is to never get discouraged with trying different set levels.

“I mean, this took me a while to get here,” Pinlac said. “But don’t forget that it’s a hobby that you enjoy, you know, doing the process and the time.”

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Creations for Charity, a volunteer non-profit organization that shares the gift of Lego with children worldwide.

    The event takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online for $15 and at the door for $20.
