Baldwin County event to celebrate farmers, agricultural history

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — An event officials say is meant to celebrate the hard work and dedication of farmers is coming to Baldwin County ahead of National Farmers Day.

Olde Time Days is scheduled for Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Baldwin County Bicentennial Park. The date coincides with National Farmers Day on Oct. 12, according to event organizers.

The upcoming free event will showcase the deep agricultural roots of the county with highlights like historical displays, local vendors, live music, traditional food offerings, and educational talks.

“Farming remains a cornerstone of our daily lives, impacting food security, economic stability, and environmental sustainability,” event organizers said. “It supports the livelihoods of millions and contributes significantly to both local and global economies. Moreover, sustainable farming practices play a crucial role in conserving resources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting biodiversity.”
