( KLFY ) — With Tropical Storm Francine bearing down on the Louisiana coast, scheduled events are being canceled or postponed in anticipation of landfall on Wednesday. Here is a list of event cancellations received by KLFY.
Lafayette Parish
- All public schools in Lafayette Parish will close on Tuesday , and be closed Wednesday and Thursday.
- Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy and Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy will close Tuesday and remain closed through Thursday.
- Annual 9/11 Meal of Remembrance, scheduled for Wednesday at Parc Sans Souci in Lafayette, is canceled.
- The Lafayette Parish School Board meeting to consider levying additional or increased millage rates scheduled for Wednesday has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18.
- All Sugar ‘n Spice and Vacation locations will close Tuesday at 1 p.m. and remain closed Wednesday and Thursday.
- University of Louisiana at Lafayette will close at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and remain closed on Wednesday. The campus expects to reopen and resume classes on Thursday.
- All Prime Time Head Start and Early Head Start centers in Lafayette Parish will close Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday and Thursday.
- Carencro Catholic, Sts. Leo-Seton, St. Mary Early Learning, St. Genevieve, and Holy Cross Little Shepherds will be dismissing early Tuesday and closed on Wednesday and Thursday
- Cathedral Carmel, Holy Family, Our Lady of Fatima, St. Cecilia, St. Pius, St. Thomas More, and Teurlings will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
- The Friends of the Library book sale that was scheduled for this week has been postponed
- Lafayette Christian Academy will be closed Tuesday through Thursday
- Child Learning Center in Lafayette will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday
- Gethsemane Christian Academy in Lafayette will be closed Tuesday
- First Baptist Christian School and First Baptist Mother’s Day Out will be closed Tuesday through Thursday.
- First Baptist Lafayette church office will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Junior League of Lafayette is suspending all league activities from noon Tuesday through Thursday
Acadia Parish
- All public schools in Acadia Parish will be closed Tuesday and will remain closed on Wednesday
- LSU Eunice will close its campus on Wednesday and Thursday. The campus is expected to resume normal business operations and class instruction on Friday.
- The Agriculture Symposium by LSU Eunice scheduled for Friday, Sept. 13 has been postponed. No new date has been set for the symposium.
- Election Commissioner testing that was set for Tuesday has been postponed. A new date has not yet been set.
- Notre Dame, Our Mother of Peace, Rayne Catholic, St. Francis and St. Michael schools will be dismissing early Tuesday
Calcasieu Parish
- The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Administrative Office, Tax Office and departments with non-essential personnel will be closing at noon Tuesday
- CPSO Sheriff Sales is canceled on Wednesday
Lake Charles: All City facilities, including City Hall, Historic City Hall, Central School and Public Works Administration Building will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. All City recreation facilities, Mallard Golf Club and the Lake Charles Event Center will also be closed during this time. To help with debris management ahead of the storm, trash and garbage routes will run as usual on Tuesday, weather permitting. Recycling Centers and the Roving Green Recycling Truck will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Evangeline Parish
- All Evangeline Parish School District campuses and administrative offices will close at noon Tuesday and remain closed on Wednesday. These closures apply to all after-school activities.
Iberia Parish
- Iberia Parish Schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Any further closures beyond Wednesday will be decided later. School closures on Tuesday and Wednesday include district offices, extra-curricular activities, athletic practices and events and student care centers.
- Acadiana Christian School in Iberia Parish is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
- All Prime Time Head Start and Early Head Start centers in Iberia Parish will close at noon Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday and Thursday.
- Catholic High and St. Edward will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday
Jeff Davis Parish
- All Jeff Davis public schools and offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
St. Landry Parish
- St. Landry Parish schools and administrative offices will dismiss early on Tuesday. Schools will follow early dismissal schedules for bus and car riders. All schools and offices will remain closed on Wednesday. This closure also applies to all after-school activities and sports practices scheduled for these days.
- Good Shepherd Montessori School in Port Barre will be releasing students at noon Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday.
- Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry scheduled for Wednesday, at the Yambilee Building is canceled.
- St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office TRIAD scheduled for Wednesday in Eunice has been canceled.
- Opelousas Catholic will be closed Wednesday
- St. Edmund will dismiss early Tuesday and remain closed on Wednesday
- St. Ignatius will be closed Wednesday and Thursday
St. Martin Parish
- All St. Martin Parish schools will be released Tuesday at noon. Also, all schools will be closed for the entire day on Wednesday. All afternoon activities are canceled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
- St. Bernard will be closed Wednesday and Thursday
St. Mary Parish
- St. Mary Parish Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. A decision regarding school operations for Thursday will be made later.
- St. Mary Parish Council regular meeting scheduled for Wednesday is canceled. A special meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 18.
- St. Mary Parish Expungement & Resource Clinic, scheduled for Tuesday at South Louisiana Community College’s Young Memorial Campus, is canceled.
- Committee Meetings of the City of Franklin scheduled for Wednesday have been canceled.
- Hanson Memorial will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday
- St. John will be closed Wednesday and Thursday
Vermilion Parish
- Vermilion Parish public schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Vermilion Charter Academy will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Kaplan City Courthouse and Kaplan City Clerk of Court’s Office will close 11 a.m. Tuesday and remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday. The courthouse and office will reopen Friday at 8:30 a.m. All defendants who have court on Thursday, Sept. 12, will be served for the 9 a.m. Oct. 10 court date.
- Maltrait Memorial and Vermilion Catholic will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday
