    Photos of attempted Gulf Shores bank robbery released — do you have information?

    UPDATE (6:01 p.m.): News 5 has more information on an attempted bank robbery that left local schools on lockdown earlier this afternoon.

    According to the Gulf Shores Police Department, a man approached a bank teller at around 1:57 p.m. on Sept. 11 at The First Bank (205 East 20th Avenue) and demanded money. Police said he did not show a weapon during the incident.

    BANK LOCATION:

    That man was described as white with an average build, standing between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet, 2 inches tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes with white soles and a scarf pulled up over his face, police said.

    Witnesses say they saw him coming from the wooded area near East 16th Avenue and East 2nd Street. As a result, Gulf Shores City Schools were placed on lockdown while officials with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Orange Beach Police Department, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and Gulf State Park Rangers searched the area with K-9s and drones.

    The FBI and detectives from the Gulf Shores Police Department are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information on the incident can contact the GSPD at 251-968-2431.

    GULF SHORES, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Gulf Shores Police Department is investigating after a robbery attempt at First National Bank of Baldwin.

    According to GSPD, one person entered the bank and presented a note. Police say they did not get any money.

    The person reportedly left on foot toward local schools and Gulf State Park.

    The person was reported to be wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes with white soles, and blue surgical gloves at the time of the incident. K-9s and drones are currently looking for the person.

    No injuries were reported.

    Gulf Shores City Schools are in a precautionary lockdown due to the incident.
