Bishop State celebrates increase in student enrollment

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Bishop State Community College is celebrating what school officials say is a significant achievement: increasing student enrollment.

According to a press release from the college, the school has seen an increase in student enrollment for the fall 2024 semester.

“The college has registered 4,059 students, representing a 13.76% increase over Fall 2023 and an impressive 36.76% increase compared to Fall 2022. Bishop State has not seen comparative enrollment numbers in the last 18 years, when total enrollment reached 4,070 in Fall 2006. “

The college provided the following enrollment numbers as of Sept. 11 of the past three years to compare.

• Fall 2024: 4,059 students registered (as of September 11, 2024)
• Fall 2023: 3,566 students registered (as of September 11, 2023)
• Fall 2022: 2,797 students registered (as of September 11, 2022)

“We set a goal to reach 4,000 students this semester, and I’m proud to say we’ve not only met that goal but surpassed it,” said Olivier Charles, President of Bishop State. “This is a significant achievement for our college and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.

Charles continued, “Surpassing 4,000 students is more than just a number—it’s a reflection of the trust our community places in Bishop State to provide quality education and career opportunities. We’re excited to continue building on this momentum.”
