    Foley Police respond to ‘potential threat’ at middle school, charges pending against student

    UPDATE (Sept. 17, 12:40 p.m.): News 5 has learned that a 13-year-old has been arrested in connection with this incident.

    BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Police will be on the campus of Foley Middle School and a student is facing potential charges after an incident at the school.

    The Foley Police Department shared on Facebook that officers responded to the middle school for a “potential threat” Tuesday morning. According to police, the situation is under control with officers on school grounds.

    One student was removed from campus following the incident and possible charges are pending, according to police.

    Officials with the police department said the situation, which comes less than a week after a threat at Foley High School , is now handled, though the post noted that they will maintain a presence on campus for the rest of the day.
