MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A detective with the Prichard Police Department has entered a plea of not guilty after he was accused of perjury, according to court documents.

44-year-old Jason Timothy Matthias Hadaway entered the not guilty plea on Tuesday, the day before his arraignment was scheduled. He was arrested earlier this month on a third-degree perjury charge.

His arraignment will no longer take place after his not-guilty plea.

Hadaway’s perjury charge stems from a criminal complaint alleging he made false statements about a January 2023 murder case when asked about it in June while under oath during a court proceeding.
