Escambia County Sheriff’s Office investigating 4 incidents in violent weekend

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a violent weekend resulted in four people dead and another injured.
The violence began on Saturday when deputies reportedly responded to a fight between two men on the 6800 block of Cornelius Lane.
LOCATION:
Deputies located a man with multiple stab wounds, according to an ECSO press release. The victim’s brother, 40-year-old Edward Jermaine Pettway of Pensacola, was located and arrested.
Pettway is charged with attempted murder and is being held without bond.
Two homicides under investigation
In addition, the sheriff’s office began investigating two homicides on Sunday.
A deputy responded to the 8700 block of Rebel Acres Lane on Sunday, in which the deputy found a 40-year-old man dead due to a gunshot wound, according to an ECSO news release.
Herrera was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
The sheriff’s office is still working to identify the victim, who is from Honduras.
In a separate incident, an Escambia County deputy responded to the 500 block of Citrus Street on Saturday and discovered a female with “a deep and fatal head wound,” according to an ECSO Facebook post .
The post said investigators learned an acquaintance was in the area with a hatchet before fleeing the scene.
Deputies located and placed the suspect, 34-year-old Terre Robert Weathers, who is also known as Knowledge and is homeless, under arrest on drug-related charges while his murder warrant is prepared.
Murder-suicide under investigation
In an unrelated incident, the ECSO began investigating an apparent murder-suicide on Monday.
An Escambia County deputy responded to the 2000 block of North B Street for a welfare check on Monday.
LOCATION:
When the deputy arrived, they found a dead woman lying in bed with a fatal gunshot wound next to her dead 10-year-old daughter, who was also lying in bed with a fatal gunshot wound.
