Senior Bowl donates practice pants to Baldwin County Tigers football team

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Senior Bowl launched the Mobile-Baldwin Athletic Partnership three years ago.

The partnership is designed to give back to local high school football programs.

Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy and the Senior Bowl team took a trip over to Bay Minette on Tuesday afternoon to check in with the Baldwin County Tigers.

“These young men, they’re the future of our community. They really are,” Nagy said. “So we want to pour into them as much as we can. And that’s why the other component of this program, it’s not just providing funds for them to buy equipment. We do the leadership training and things of that nature and get a lot of people to come out and speak to them because they are. They’re the future.”

The Senior Bowl donated practice pants previously worn by current NFL players who played in the nation’s premier all-star game.

“The pants are huge,” Tigers head coach Andrew Davis said. “I mean, with the price of cloth these days, particularly it being not only stylish, which the kids like, but also good material that’s going to last us for years, that saves us probably, you know, over the course of four or five years, thousands of dollars.”

“They giving back to us and I just thank God for it,” Tigers left tackle Martez Taylor said.

The Senior Bowl has donated over $200,000 worth of equipment to local high school football programs over the last three years.
