    Spanish Fort breaks ground on first dog park

    SPANISH FORT, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Spanish Fort officials broke ground on the city’s first dog park on Wednesday.

    Loyalty Park will be located south of Spirit Park and the baseball fields along Huckleberry Lane.

    Wednesday, the city council and Spanish Fort police officers gathered for the event.

    This park is one of six coming to the city. Spanish Fort Mayor Michael M. McMillan told News 5 that he expects the park to be completed in the next 90 days.

    “One and a half acre sight,” McMillan said. “Large dogs, small dogs, we expect to have it done by the end of the year.”

    The mayor said officials are excited about it and all of the other projects that the city is working on.
