    Mobile man facing felony charges after attempted traffic stop

    MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A local man is facing a felony after an attempted traffic stop Wednesday night, according to the Mobile Police Department.

    Officers arrested 27-year-old Claiborne Spears of Mobile after attempting a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

    According to the MPD, instead of stopping the car, the driver, who was later identified as Spears, continued on Interstate 10 Eastbound to Canal Street. Police said that Spears drove toward Water Street in an attempt to evade arrest before stopping and exiting the vehicle on foot.

    INCIDENT LOCATION:

    Spears was taken to Mobile Metro Jail and charged with felony attempting to elude.
