    Salvation Army of Pensacola set to go to Tallahassee for Helene relief

    PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — The Salvation Army of Pensacola will head to Tallahassee next week to assist with Hurricane Helene relief.

    Local Salvation Army leader Captain Ashlee Wildish will be deployed to Tallahassee on Monday, Sept. 30, to serve at the State Emergency Operations Center as a Liaison Specialist.

    “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this manner and look forward to doing my part to help first responders and survivors recover after Hurricane Helene moves through”, Wildish said.

    Helene Becomes a Major Hurricane, Landfall Expected Thursday Evening

    The Salvation Army of Pensacola will also deploy its mobile kitchen or canteen with personnel. The canteen will head to Live Oak or Tallahassee over the weekend to serve meals to the most affected areas.

    “Our canteen is equipped to serve up to 1,500 meals at each mealtime,” Captain Stephan Wildish said. “We are ready to serve those that will be affected by Helene.”
