MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A juvenile was arrested following reports of threats made toward Scarborough Middle School, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Tracking Three Named Storms in the Atlantic Basin and two other areas

The MPD said in a news release that officers were notified of the threat around 6:38 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26. Police said the alleged threats, that were directed at Scarborough Middle School, were deemed unfounded.

The unnamed juvenile, who alleged the threats, was ultimately arrested and taken to Strickland Youth Center in connection with making a terroristic threat and false reporting to law enforcement, according to an MPD news release.

According to previous reporting , this incident comes after a series of threats at local schools, including one where juveniles were arrested earlier this week in connection with social media threats directed at Scarborough Middle School and Chastang-Fournier School, respectively.

This incident also comes after Mobile Police Chief William Jackson released a statement noting that the police department takes threats toward schools seriously and that even threats made as jokes will still result in charges.
