1 juvenile killed, another injured in Evergreen shooting, city officials say

EVERGREEN, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A juvenile was killed, and another was injured during a shooting in Evergreen Saturday, according to a city news release.

The shooting happened around dusk Saturday evening, and the juvenile injured is listed in stable condition.

“Multiple arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing,” Evergreen Police Chief Tristan Robinson said.

Counselors and social workers were sent to Hillcrest High School Monday morning for group and individual counseling.

Mayor Stanley Stallworth said, “At this difficult time, let’s pray for all the young people involved in this tragic series of events. Life has been lost and lives have forever been changed by today’s events.”

“Parents, Grandparents, Brothers, Sisters, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and other – our friends and neighbors – are grieving and in great pain,” the statement said.

“Let’s pray for the strength of the families and friends involved as they comfort each other, and let’s pray for their wisdom in helping to deescalate and prevent further tragedies.”
