Reese’s Senior Bowl Coach of the Week: Chase Smith, Spanish Fort

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Local high school football teams will pick back up with region play on Friday and the Spanish Fort Toros will enter week 7 with plenty of momentum.

Last Friday, Spanish Fort matched up against crosstown rival Daphne is non-region play. The Toros defeated the Trojans 21-7 to improve to 5-1 on the season.

The win earned Spanish Fort head coach Chase Smith our Reese’s Senior Bowl Coach of the Week honors!

Smith has recorded a 21-8 record during his two and a half season tenure on ‘The Hill.’ Sixteen of those wins have come in the very challenging 6A Region 1.

Smith’s Toros have made the playoffs each of the last two years. Spanish Fort travels to Blount this week as they get back into region play.
