Mobile-Fire Rescue expo to feature food, music, demonstrations

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) – The Mobile Fire and Rescue Department is preparing to host its annual Fire Expo, according to officials.

This event scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 at Municipal Park is open to the public and coincides with National Fire Protection Association Fire Prevention Week

EVENT LOCATION:

The expo will feature music, food, activities, and demonstrations.

Firefighters will be at the event, giving attendees close-up views of rope rappelling, emergency medical services demonstrations, vehicle extrication demonstrations, and more. Simulations of a House burning are featured at the expo as well.

The MFRD fire safety trailer will also be at the event to give people a chance to learn about home fire safety from immersive activities. Fire truck activities are available and USA South Flight is having a medical helicopter on hand giving visitors a closer look.

“Bringing the community together to showcase what we do is a great way to raise awareness for fire safety,” Fire Chief Johnny Morris Jr. said.
