Band of the Week: Spanish Fort High School

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Congratulations to Spanish Fort High School’s Marching Toro Band for winning JBT Power Band of the Week for week 6 of 5th Quarter!

The Marching Toro Band is led by drum major Walton Butterworth.

The band is also led by band director Michelle Daughenbaugh and assistant director Jonathan Faust.

The band consists of 80 students who participate in Symphonic Band and Jazz Band. Color guard students also participate in winter guard.

The Marching Toro Band receives superior ratings at marching band competitions and at the Alabama Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment.

The Band is in a rebuilding stage and has grown 33% in the past year.

The Marching Toro Band will travel to New York City in the spring to see a Broadway show and watch the NY Philharmonic perform.
