    2 arrested after Old Canal Street kidnapping: Mobile Police

    MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A man and woman have been arrested in connection with the Wednesday night kidnapping of a 64-year-old man, according to the Mobile Police Department.

    30-year-old Ardelia Denise Nettles and 24-year-old Demetrius Louis Nettles were arrested after Clarence Hires was forcibly taken from his home and put into a car on Oct. 2 around 9 p.m., according to police.

    Mobile police officer arrested, terminated for stealing packages: MPD

    According to an MPD news release, officers were called to a home on the 1700 block of Old Canal Street for a report of an incident.

    When they arrived, officers heard that three people had broken into the home and demanded money.

    When Hires refused to give them money, the three allegedly put him in a car and left.

    Police announced around 1 p.m. Thursday that Hires had been located and was safe.

    Both Demetrius and Ardelia were charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree kidnapping.
