    Mobile man sentenced for 2021 murder on Dauphin Street

    MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A Mobile man has been sentenced for a murder that happened in 2021.

    Deonte Hughes, 29, will serve 20 years in prison for the shooting death of 21-year-old Laquintae Carroll.

    This incident happened at the South of Dauphin Apartments on Dauphin Street on June 9, 2021.

    Hughes turned himself in the following day and pleaded guilty to the shooting.

    Following his prison sentence, he is also ordered to serve four years of probation.
