Homeless man arrested after being found with stolen vehicle, Mobile police say

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A homeless man is behind bars after police said they found him with a vehicle reported stolen from a home Tuesday afternoon.

The Mobile Police Department said in a news release that Leroy Barnes, Jr., 23, was arrested after officers responded to a home in the 3100 block of Lawton Court for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Officers said they found Barnes with the vehicle on Baltimore Street.

INCIDENT LOCATION:

According to reports, Barnes was “quickly apprehended” after he ran from officers.

Barnes was taken to Metro Jail and charged with first-degree receiving stolen property and felony attempt to elude.
