Reese’s Senior Bowl Coach of the Week: Barrett Trotter, Bayside Academy

DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — Local teams jumped back in to region play in week seven of the high school football season.

Last Friday, Bayside Academy took a big leap in Class 3A Region 1 with a 28-20 victory over Hillcrest-Evergreen.

The win earned Bayside Academy head coach Barrett Trotter our Reese’s Senior Bowl Coach of the Week honors!

The Admirals improve to 5-1 overall and remain undefeated in region play (3-0). Currently, Bayside Academy and No. 1 T.R. Miller are the only undefeated teams in Region 1.

Trotter and the Admirals are on a five-game winning streak after falling to No. 7 St. Michael (Class 4A) in the season opener. Trotter is in his second season at Bayside Academy and has compiled a 13-4 record.

The Bayside defense is allowing just 11.7 points per game and the unit has registered two shutouts through six games. The Admirals return to region play this week in a home game against Cottage Hill Christian on October 11.
