    Okaloosa County jail employee arrested, fired after smuggling in items: Sheriff’s Office

    OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — An Okaloosa County Jail employee was arrested and fired on Oct. 3 after he allegedly smuggled items into the jail, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

    26-year-old Corey Shaun Labauve was booked into jail after he allegedly smuggled vapor-generating devices and cell phones into the jail.

    Labauve worked for 30 days at the jail as a contracted employee before he was arrested, according to OCSO.

    “The smuggling of contraband into a correctional facility is a serious offense that directly threatens the safety and order of our operations,” said Chief Correctional Officer Nolan Weeks.

    they need to be doing background checks on contracted employees. you can tell this definitely is not his first rodeo. that's all all these inmates die. things being smuggled in.
