    Pensacola man arrested after string of church burglaries

    PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — The Pensacola Police Department arrested a man in connection with a string of church burglaries.

    Suspect held without bond, victim identified in Bay Minette murder

    According to the PPD, Jeremy Lang, 20, of Pensacola, was the man arrested.

    The department shared in a news release that Lang was arrested after at least seven churches in the areas of Woodland Avenue, 9th Avenue, MLK Drive, and North Davis Highway had been burglarized between Sept. 24 and Oct. 12.

    Officers reportedly received information about the suspect in the church burglaries. One officer spotted Lang, who they said matched the suspect’s description, walking on Davis Highway near Woodland Drive on Oct. 14, according to the release.

    Lang was found with burglary tools, marijuana, and a stolen firearm, according to officials.

    He is currently being held without bond on the following charges:

    • Burglary
    • Possession of marijuana less than 20 grams
    • Providing a false name to law enforcement
    • Possession of a concealed firearm under 21 years old
    • Possession of a firearm by an adjudicated felon delinquent
    • Possession of burglary tools.

    The department said additional burglary charges are pending.
