No. 1 ranked McGill-Toolen, Mobile Christian win area volleyball titles

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — McGill-Toolen and Mobile Christian volleyball claimed area titles on Tuesday as the road to a blue map begins.

The No. 1 ranked Yellow Jackets swept Daphne in three straight sets in the 7A Area 2 final. Dirty Dozen senior Paris Mcquirter posted 12 kills against the Trojans — the North Alabama commit has recorded more than 500 kills this season. Both McGill-Toolen and Daphne will play in the 7A Regional tournament next week in Montgomery. McT is the two-time defending 7A State Champion.

In Class 3A, No. 1 ranked Mobile Christian swept St. Luke’s to claim the Area 1 championship. The Leopards picked up their 33rd win of the season. Both teams will play in the 3A Regional tournament next week.
