ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — An Escambia County judge swore in the latest District 4 County Commissioner at the Special Board of County Commissioners meeting on Thursday.

Hofberger was appointed to this position by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

This appointment comes at the end of a term, meaning Hofberger is still campaigning for a seat on the county commission after the general election on Nov. 5.

“I have hit the ground running, prioritizing vital initiatives such as enhancing resources for our first responders, streamlining business operations in Escambia County, and ensuring a better investment of taxpayer dollars,” said Hofberger.

“Being appointed during the final weeks of my campaign adds an interesting dynamic as I navigate the responsibilities of office while actively seeking the support of voters for the November 5th election.”

While serving the county, Hofberger said she is committed to supporting first responders, facilitating business growth, and managing taxpayer funds wisely.
