    Creole Festival coming to downtown Mobile — what to know

    MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — October is Creole Heritage Month and an event to celebrate it is coming to Mobile County this weekend.

    The Mobile County Creole Business Association is hosting the Creole Festival in downtown Mobile. The event will occur at Kazoola Eatery and Entertainment, 558 Dauphin St.

    The festival begins at 2 p.m. with the Gumbo Secondline Parade scheduled for 3 p.m., starting at Cedar Street and St. Francis Street.

    The event is a family-friendly affair for people to acknowledge, educate, and celebrate all things Creole.

    Everyone is welcome and can bring old photos and wear Creole clothing of the times.

    Creole food vendors will be in attendance with gumbo, barbeque, wings, fries, Kool pops, cakes, and pies. The festival will also feature art walk vendors with shoes, books, scented oils, Mary Kay, and jewelry.
