    2024 Greater Gulf State Fair begins next week in Mobile — what to know

    MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Funnel cakes, fair rides and fun games are what fair-goers can expect at the Greater Gulf State Fair this year — all starting on Friday, Oct. 25.

    The fair will last through the week and will end on Nov. 3.

    Not only will the fair have rides, food and games, but there will also be 4-H competitions and shows.

    Entertainment at the fair will include local musicians and bands, along with a rodeo.

    Adult admission tickets bought ahead of the fair opening are $8 and tickets for kids between the ages of five and ten are $4. The pre-sale unlimited ride wristband is $25 for any age.

    Tickets for adult admission during the fair on Monday through Thursday are $10 and on Friday through Sunday are $12. Children’s admission tickets on Monday through Thursday are $8 and Friday through Sunday are $10.

    Unlimited ride wristbands Monday through Thursday are $30 and an increase to $35 on Friday through Sunday.

    New security measures will be in place at the fair as well including a youth curfew and new state-of-the-art metal detectors.
