Why Prichard garbage pickup is backed up

PRICHARD, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Due to a maintenance issue with the garbage truck, the City of Prichard said residents can expect a delayed garbage pickup.

According to city spokesperson TJ Pettway, the Prichard Public Services Department is working to resolve the issue and hopes to be back on schedule “within the next two weeks.”

Prichard officials are asking residents to have patients with PPSD as they work to continue collecting garbage.

“We kindly ask all citizens to leave their garbage carts on the curb and ensure that the lids are closed,” Pettway said.
