    Chattanooga native wins Olympic gold, sets Olympic record

    CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Chattanooga native not only set an Olympic gold, but set a world record at the Paris games on Friday.

    University of Tennessee at Chattanooga alumna Olivia Reeves set a world record and made gold for Team USA. Reeves was the first American to win gold in the women’s weightlifting category in 24 years.

    Reeves, 21, lifted a whopping 262 kilograms. Reeves said that she has been training for this event for the past nine years.
