NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Marginal Risk (category 1 of 5) remains in effect for most of Middle TN and south KY. A Slight Risk (2 of 5) issued earlier has been removed.

Storms that pushed through Nashville Saturday night are pushing south during the overnight hours, but could still produce isolated areas of 40-50 mph wind gusts. There were several reports of trees down across the area and small hail as the storms moved through this afternoon and evening, but no widespread damage.

These storms were ahead of a cold front that after a scorching afternoon when Nashville reached 99° for a high, should bring lowering temperatures

By Sunday, the front should push through the area with morning showers pushing into our eastern counties during the day.

Although Sunday’s high could be in the upper 80s to near 90, it will feel considerably better with a fresh northwesterly breeze and humidity lowering during the afternoon.

This will set the stage for 3 days of highs only in the low to mid-80s and lows in the 60s (even 50s some outlying areas north and east.

However, 90s are expected to return by the end of the week and next weekend.
